Join Our Digital Transformation at Avaaz
Avaaz is currently undergoing a Digital Transformation Project to amplify our global impact. This transformation is about reimagining how we engage with our members, optimize our data systems, and develop new strategies to drive change on a global scale.
As part of this initiative, the Data Analyst role is crucial to our new structure, helping to ensure that our data processes are streamlined, secure, and insightful, supporting Avaaz’s goal to be the world’s most impactful campaigning community.
Data Analyst Position Overview
The ideal candidate should have experience in data analysis and visualization, creating and managing dashboards, and generating actionable insights to support our mission. They should have a strong understanding of data architecture, data security, and data management practices. This role reports to the Data Lead.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain reliable, secure, and scalable data systems.
- Deliver clear, maintainable, and insightful data reports and visualizations.
- Be responsible for the lifecycle of our data processes, including documentation.
- Continuously improve our data collection, analysis, and reporting automation.
- Improve team efficiency through innovative data solutions for daily challenges.

- High professionalism, efficiency, and results-oriented delivery, performing well in a fast-paced environment meeting tight deadlines.
- Fluency in spoken and written English, additional languages are an asset.
- Experience in handling ambiguity, simplifying requirements, and distilling use cases down to deliver solutions.
- Good problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- 3+ years of data analysis experience.
- High proficiency in data visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to apply statistical methods effectively, elevating the organization's data maturity and understanding.
- Strong fundamentals of working with databases (SQL, NoSQL, etc.).
- Ability to apply statistical methods to analyze and interpret data, providing meaningful insights.
It would help if you have…
- Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and the unique challenges and opportunities related to donation and revenue data.
- Understanding of fundraising strategies and principles, with the ability to align data insights with fundraising efforts.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
Location
Avaaz is a virtual organization, with most of our work done online. Our staff are based all over the world. For this position, the candidate would ideally be based in the EMEA or Americas time zones, although other locations may be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary varies with location and experience and is highly competitive with leading international nongovernmental organizations. The full-package salary for this position ranges from $59,000 - 98,000 USD. Candidates will be provided with an accurate range in local currency.
