Position Overview

The Palestinian people are facing one of the most painful chapters in their history, with over 30,000 people killed in Gaza, close to 10,000 imprisoned, and the expansion of violence in the West Bank. At this moment, the struggle for Palestinian rights is more urgent and important than ever, and this struggle must be led by Palestinian voices. This is why Avaaz is building a team that can help mobilize strategic, people-led local and global action that can help achieve the change needed. 

Overview of Responsibilities

One of the key roles of this project will be the Operations Support Coordinator who will organise a range of administrative duties. This will mean delivering financial, legal, logistical assistance and coordinating security support effectively to support our team’s vital work.  This position will report to one of Avaaz’s Senior Campaign Directors, a leading figure in the campaign movement for Palestinian rights and an Operations Officer with whom you will provide cross-timezone cooperation.


As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Excel in finance, ensuring budgets are navigated with expertise and expenses meticulously tracked. 
  • Your logistical expertise  will shine as you arrange and organise events, protests, and public actions, leaving a lasting impact on our mission. 
  • With a commitment to people empowerment, you'll provide unwavering support in staffing and HR matters, fostering a culture of care and respect. 
  • Additionally, your attention to detail will be evident in managing travel logistics seamlessly, facilitating smooth journeys for our team. 
  • Throughout the campaign lifecycle, your logistical and security support will be instrumental, ensuring our efforts unfold with precision and effectiveness.

Skills and Experience

  • Managing budgets with expertise, ensuring meticulous financial reporting and transparent expense tracking.
  • A confident level of technical and IT skills.
  • Experience with logistics for advocacy actions. 
  • Cultural sensitivity and an ability to navigate the security and logistical implications of this type of work. 
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a requirement. Fluency in other languages is desirable.


Our team's work will be predominantly on the ground. Ideally this position will be based in Palestine, with internal work conducted over email, Google Suites, telephone, and Slack.
